# xskill Terms of Service

_Draft updated: 2026-06-25. This launch draft is for operational alignment and
must receive legal review before production use._

A product by Achronon.

These Terms describe the rules for using the
xskill API and related skill/docs surfaces.

## Service

xskill provides a prepaid API that helps agents fetch and understand X/Twitter
posts, conversations, search results, and image media. Responses can include
raw normalized data, summaries, structured parse output, TLDRs, and image
OCR/description data.

xskill uses third-party providers for source data and LLM analysis. xskill is
not affiliated with X/Twitter, Anthropic, twitterapi.io, Stripe, or any other
third-party provider unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

## Accounts and API Keys

Customers receive one or more `xsk_` API keys. You are responsible for all use
of your keys and must keep them secret. Do not publish keys, embed them in
client-side code, or share them with users who should not be able to spend your
credits.

Achronon may revoke, rotate, suspend, or rate-limit keys to protect the service,
prevent abuse, comply with law, or respond to provider or payment risk.

## Prepaid Credits

xskill is pay as you go. Customers add prepaid credits through Stripe Checkout,
then API calls debit credits according to the active price card.

Credits are not bank deposits, stored-value accounts, or cash equivalents. Free,
trial, promotional, or test credits have no cash value. Paid credits are handled
under the [refund and pricing policy](./refund-policy.md).

The default free tier tops each account balance up to a monthly cap. The free
pool is account-scoped, not API-key-scoped, and does not stack above the cap.

## Pricing Changes

Achronon may change API prices, free-tier amounts, rate limits, or cost ceilings.
Changes apply prospectively. Existing usage records keep the price-card metadata
that was applied at the time of the call.

Current pricing mechanics are documented in [pricing.md](./pricing.md).

## Customer Content and Third-Party Content

You are responsible for the prompts, post IDs, search queries, URLs, API calls,
and downstream use cases you send to xskill.

X/Twitter content and media are third-party content. xskill does not grant you
ownership of third-party content, a license to resell it, or permission to
ignore platform, creator, privacy, copyright, or other legal restrictions.

You must not use xskill to resell or redistribute third-party content as a
standalone data product, evade platform restrictions, or build a competing bulk
data feed. Use xskill for agent workflow assistance and internal automation,
subject to applicable law and third-party terms.

## Acceptable Use

You must not use xskill to:

- violate law or third-party rights;
- harass, threaten, or target people;
- process or distribute illegal, non-consensual, or exploitative content;
- attack, probe, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass xskill systems;
- bypass rate limits, cost ceilings, billing controls, or account controls;
- share, sell, or lease API keys;
- use output as a substitute for professional, legal, financial, medical, or
  safety advice.

Achronon may suspend or terminate access for suspected abuse, payment risk,
security risk, or provider risk.

## No SLA and Third-Party Dependencies

xskill is provided as a lightweight pay-per-use service with no uptime SLA.
Provider availability, source-content availability, search behavior, LLM quality,
and image OCR quality can change without notice.

When a provider, parser, vision analyzer, Stripe, DNS, hosting, or other
dependency fails, xskill may return errors, partial data, delayed data, or no
data. xskill may change providers, models, request limits, or response fields to
keep the service operating.

## Output Accuracy

Summaries, TLDRs, structured parse output, and image OCR/description output are
machine-generated and may be incomplete or wrong. Verify important information
against original sources before relying on it.

## Payment, Refunds, and Disputes

Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout. Credits are added only after
Stripe reports a paid Checkout Session and xskill records the ledger credit.

Refund handling, duplicate payment handling, billing disputes, and paid-credit
eligibility are described in the [refund and pricing policy](./refund-policy.md).

Chargebacks or payment disputes may cause account suspension while the dispute is
reviewed.

## Changes to the Service or Terms

Achronon may update the service or these Terms. Material policy changes should be
communicated through the product, docs, email, or another reasonable channel.
Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

## Termination

You may stop using xskill at any time. Achronon may suspend or terminate access
for abuse, risk, non-payment, legal compliance, provider restrictions, or service
shutdown.

On termination, unused paid credits are handled under the refund and pricing
policy. Free, promotional, or test credits are not refundable.

## Disclaimers

xskill is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by
law after legal review, Achronon disclaims warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and
uninterrupted operation.

## Liability Limits

To the maximum extent allowed by law after legal review, Achronon will not be
liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive
damages; lost profits; lost data; provider outages; or third-party content. Any
aggregate liability should be capped at the amount you paid for xskill credits
in the 3 months before the claim.

## Contact

For billing, refund, policy, or security questions, contact Achronon through the
support channel published on the live xskill site or checkout surface.
